Man missing after boat capsizes in Caloosahatchee River on Sunday

Fort Myers Police are hoping the public can help find a man whose boat capsized Sunday in the Caloosahatchee River.

Police said Pedro Pablo Ramirez, 40, and his stepfather had launched a 16-foot aluminum john boat from the Davis Boat Ramp in Fort Myers Shores. Police did not list Ramirez's hometown.

When they were east of the Edison Bridge, waves upended the boat about 4:45 p.m. Another boater pulled the stepfather from the river, police said.

Surf-reports.com reports that waves reached 4 feet on the river with wind speeds as high as 19 mph,

Ramirez was not located Sunday evening, police said.
