PRINCE GEORGE — Police are looking for a man they say shot up an apartment Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 9:40 a.m. at the Jefferson Pointe Apartments in the northern part of the county, said Police Officer Alexis Grochmal. Witnesses said a man wearing a black mask and jacket with tan pants walked up to one of the buildings and “fired numerous bullets into an apartment while the residents were inside,” Grochmal said.

No one inside the apartment was hit by bullets, and Grochmal said the man fled the scene on foot.

It was not immediately clear why the shooting took place. Grochmal said the suspect used a handgun.
