Man sentenced for 2023 deadly Kansas City, Kansas stabbing

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A 66-year-old man has been sentenced for the July 2023 deadly stabbing of a woman at a downtown Kansas City, Kansas apartment.

Robert Simpson was sentenced last Friday to 25 years in Wyandotte County District Court after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.

Man charged after allegedly stabbing person in neck in Henry County

The incident happened at an apartment complex near N. 7th Street Trafficway and Nebraska Avenue on July 21, 2023.

When officers arrived, they found a woman dead with apparent stab wounds. She was identified as 43-year-old Latasha Williams, of KCK.

Simpson was later taken into custody.
