Man sentenced to 70 months in prison for drug trafficking

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A federal court has sentenced a man to nearly six years in prison for trafficking methamphetamine through Schuylkill County.

U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam said 52-year-old Javier Guzman, from Pottsville, was sentenced to 70 months for possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine.

Authorities launch death investigation after suspicious fall in Dickson City

Officials said Guzman admitted to having between 1.5 to 7 ounces of “high-quality crystal methamphetamine” for distribution in the Schuylkill County area in 2022.

Investigators said they purchased this high-quality crystal methamphetamine from Guzman several times in March 2022 in Schuylkill County.
