Man sentenced to over 17 years in prison for child porn charges

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A Connecticut man was sentenced to over 17 years in prison for trying to entice a minor online and producing child porn.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced Thursday that Christopher Capozza, 42, originally from Newington, Connecticut, was sentenced to over 17 years in prison for the online enticement of a minor and production of child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Capozza pleaded guilty to one count of online enticement of a minor and one count of production of child pornography.

Arrest made after 400 images of child pornography discovered in Luzerne County

Officials say between July 23, 2020, and December 21, 2020, Capozza used Snapchat to “persuade, induce, and entice” a minor to engage in illegal sexual acts, which included, sexual intercourse and Capozza wanted the minor to travel with him to Connecticut and Massachusetts to continue their sexual activities.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says on or around August 23, 2020, Capozza persuaded the minor to make numerous pornographic videos and sent them to him via Snapchat.

Capozza was sentenced on Wednesday, February 21, to 17 years and 6 months in prison.
