Man sentenced to prison time for burglary in Fairfield County

LANCASTER − A man has been sentenced to a minimum prison term of four years with an indefinite maximum prison term of six years in Fairfield County after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated burglary.

Nicholas Bentz, 25, faced six counts, three first-degree felonies and three second-degree felonies. After pleading guilty to one first-degree felony count for aggravated burglary, his five other charges were dropped.

According to a Lancaster Police Department incident report, Bentz and Anthony Spires, 31, kicked in the front door of a woman's apartment and assaulted her. The incident resulted in injuries to the victim's left eye and upper and lower back.

Earlier in November, Spires also pleaded guilty to one first-degree felony count for aggravated burglary, receiving the same four-to-six-year sentence as Bentz.

Both Bentz and Spires were ordered to jointly pay restitution to the victim in the amount of $241.45.
