Man seriously injured in Hampton shooting, police say

A shooting in Hampton left a man with life-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon, police said in a news release.

Officers received a call just after noon about shots being fired in the 100 block of Spanish Trail, off King Street just north of the downtown section of the city. While police were investigating, the 29-year-old man walked into a local hospital.

The motive of the incident is still under investigation. Police said the parties involved in the shooting are cooperating with detectives.
