Man seriously injured in Hanover shooting Tuesday night, police say

A 35-year-old Hanover man was seriously injured in a shooting on Tuesday night, according to borough police.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to WellSpan York Hospital.

The shooting happened around 9:04 p.m. in an alley behind the 100 block of North Street, according to a news release.

Police say the man was shot after arriving in the area to meet another person. The suspect, who is believed to be an acquaintance of the victim, ran from the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was not cooperative with police at the scene, the release states.

Police believe the shooting is an isolated incident.

Penn Township Police Department and the York County Sheriff’s Department K-9 units assisted borough police at the scene.
