Murders last year increased 29% from 2022, which had 21 murders. But the staggering numbers didn't come as a surprise to law enforcement.

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting near Springfield Apartments that left a man with serious injuries.

The man walked to his home at Springfield Apartments, 1700 Joe Louis Street, with a gunshot wound before police met him and "provided medical aid," the summary said.
