Man seriously injured in Tuesday semi crash

Jul. 6—A 49-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash late Tuesday on Interstate 29 north of Rock Port, Missouri.

Charles E. Janzen of Hampton, Nebraska, was driving a Peterbilt semi just before 11 p.m. on I-29 five miles north of Rock Port when he fell asleep at the wheel, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The truck went airborne off the highway before hitting the ground.

Janzan, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time, was taken to Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri, for his injuries.
