A man was shot dead in front of a high-end Chelsea hotel early Thursday, police said.

Byron Morales, 25, was arguing with the gunman at 12:22 a.m. in front of the Dream Hotel on W. 16th St. near Ninth Ave. when the suspect pulled out a 9mm handgun and shot him in the lower body, cops said.

EMS rushed Morales, of Brooklyn, to Lenox Hill Hospital but he could not be saved.

The suspect, leaving behind two shell casings and a deformed bullet, jumped into a Jeep with several other people and fled the scene, police said.

Cops said the victim was an associate of the Outlaws gang and not a guest at the hotel. Detectives were investigating whether his death was gang-related.

There have been no arrests.
