Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrest a man suspected in Tamarac warehouse murder

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man who they say shot and killed another Tuesday inside a Tamarac warehouse facility.

It happened shortly before 2 p.m. at 6501 Nob Hill Road, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The BSO on Wednesday said the man who pulled the trigger is Damion Dawkins, 37. He is being held without bond in county jail on one count of premeditated murder.

Deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue paramedics arrived at the building where they found a man with a gunshot wound, BSO spokeswoman Claudinne Caro said.

Paramedics took the man, who has not been named, to a hospital, where Caro said doctors pronounced him dead.

“BSO’s Homicide Unit detectives responded and are currently investigating this incident,” Caro said.

BSO still has not released the name of the man who was killed.

This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
