Man found shot to death in his car, police say

Memphis Police have identified a man who was found shot to death in his car in East Memphis on August 5.

Police said Juan Marcos Garcia was found sitting in the driver’s seat of a 2002 Honda Accord around 12:53 a.m. that Friday morning.

Garcia had been shot and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police were told that Garcia had been driving eastbound on Willowview Avenue when two shots were heard. Two men were seen standing off the roadway on the north side, police said.

One of those bullets struck Garcia, killing him as his car came to a stop, according to police.

Any information that leads to an arrest, in this case, could be worth up to $2,000.
