Man shot in Holland; suspect in custody

HOLLAND — A man is in the hospital after being shot in Holland Saturday afternoon.

It happened at 3:30 p.m. at the Harbor Village Apartment complex at 287 West 40th Street near I-196.

When police arrived at the apartment complex, they found a 25-year-old Holland man with two gunshot wounds to the arm.

There was a verbal confrontation between the suspect, a 34-year-old Holland man, and the victim, police say.

According to the release, the two individuals knew one another.

Officers took the suspect into custody without incident, and the victim was transported to Holland Hospital for treatment.

Ottawa County prosecutors will be reviewing the incident for appropriate charges.

The Michigan State Police, Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, and Allegan County Sheriff’s Office assisted Holland police.
