Man shot in Merced, identified by father through GoFundMe

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man who was shot in Merced on Feb. 7 has been identified by his family who has now organized a GoFundMe.

Police say around 5:00 a.m. officers responded to a report of several shots heard in the area of Denver Way and Frankfort Court.

When officers arrived they were directed to a residence where they say and an unresponsive man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, police say the man died on the scene.

A GoFundMe has been made by Andrew Alonzo as he has identified the man who was killed as Angelo Alonzo. Andrew is the father of Angelo.

In this GoFundMe, Andrew says that Angelo was killed five days after his birthday, and says Angelo had three kids. The goal is to raise money to cover funeral costs. If you wish to donate click here.
