Man shot in Orangevale neighborhood gets help at Metro Fire station, sheriff says

A man was hospitalized Tuesday after a shooting in an Orangevale residential neighborhood left him with injuries, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened on the 6500 block of Chestnut Avenue just before 8:15 a.m., said Sgt. Amar Gandhi. The victim was driven to Sacramento Metro Fire Department Station 22, along the same street, and was taken to a hospital, according to Gandhi and Metro Fire Battalion Chief Parker Wilbourn.

The man, identified as a 29-year-old, was taken to Mercy San Juan hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, according to radio dispatches. His condition was considered critical.

Four people were detained in connection with the shooting, Gandhi said, but no other details were immediately available.
