A man was shot while driving along West 11th Avenue in Eugene on Sunday morning, in what Eugene police believe to be a road rage incident.

The shooting happened near the intersection of West 11th Avenue and Commerce Street, with the victim pulling into the Space Age gas station after being shot, police said.

Police and paramedics responded to the gas station at around 8:53 a.m., where they found the injured man and a female passenger. The vehicle was damaged with gunshot holes, and the man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Lt. Doug Mozan said.

The case was deemed road rage due to the victims' description of the suspect's driving and behavior, Mozan said.

Police have not found the suspect vehicle, which they described as a silver or gray Volkswagen sedan with a male driver and one female passenger, last seen driving east on West 11th Avenue.

Police said the occupant of this silver sedan captured on security cameras shot a man Sunday morning while driving on West 11th Avenue.

Police said people should not confront the suspect vehicle and its occupants, and asked for those with information on the case to call EPD's non-emegency line, 541-682-5111. Mozan described the suspect driver as a possibly Latino male, with glasses and a baseball hat, and the passenger as a white or Latina woman with dyed red hair.
