Man stabbed during fight inside Wilkins Township Shop ‘n Save
A man was stabbed during a fight inside Shop ’n Save in Wilkins Township on Wednesday evening.
According to Allegheny County police, emergency crews were called to the Shop ‘n Save in the 3000 block of William Penn Highway at 7:55 p.m.
Once on scene, first responders found a 42-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times.
Channel 11 has learned the suspect and the victim were arguing about a car. The argument turned into a physical fight in the store.
Police said the suspect is Roger Hammond, 41, who was taken into custody. They said Hammond yelled at the victim and threw a jar of food at him, then punches were thrown. The two wrestled in the aisle and the victim was stabbed, according to the complaint.
The victim is in stable condition.
According to the complaint, Hammond told police they know each other from time spent in jail.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
