Man stabbed in Urbana in stable condition, investigation ongoing

Oct. 23—Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in Urbana Sunday night.

The person who was stabbed, who police have only identified as a man, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for his injuries, a Facebook post from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.

He was stabbed in the chest, sheriff's office spokesman Todd Wivell wrote in a text message on Monday.

The man is in stable condition, the post said.

Deputies with the Frederick County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:47 p.m. in Urbana, the agency said.

Police went to the Urbana Fire Station, since that is where the victim was taken, Wivell wrote.

Wivell wrote the circumstances of the stabbing were still under investigation.

Police could not confirm where the stabbing happened, the post said, and are still looking for who stabbed the man.
