Man struck by Lower Manhattan subway train, hospitalized

A man was hospitalized after he was struck by a Lower Manhattan subway train Monday morning, officials said.

The victim was hit at the Bowery station on the J and Z lines about 10:24 a.m., according to FDNY. Medics took him Bellevue Hospital and his condition was not immediately known.

Officials did not immediately know how the man came into contact with the train. When he was removed by medics on a stretcher his jeans were at his ankles and his coat was torn in several places.
