Man stuck in Riverside manhole for 3 days was ‘looking for God’

New details have been released after a man was rescued from a manhole in Riverside Saturday after being stuck in there for three days.

Saturday just before 4:10 p.m. Riverside fire and police were called to 500 block of Reading Road to reports of a man being found underground after falling through a manhole cover, according to a police report.

When officers arrived on the scene they saw a hammer and crowbar beside the open manhole cover and a 54-year-old man inside the utility hole.
