SINGAPORE — A man seeking a court order for his 16-year-old daughter to get vaccinated against COVID-19 has claimed that his ex-wife strongly opposed the jab.

The man is applying for authorities to allow the girl to get her vaccination and for his ex-wife, who has joint custody of their child, to bear his legal costs, according to a CNA report.

None of the parties involved can be named as the girl is a minor. The man has since remarried.

The man, a permanent resident, applied for a divorce in 2015 after living apart from his Singaporean wife for three years. They were married in 2003.

The man, who is represented by lawyer Chung Ting Fai, wishes for his daughter to get the jab and claimed that she also wants to be vaccinated, according to the CNA report.
