Man suffers critical injuries when his bike is struck by a car on Peoria's East Bluff

PEORIA − A man suffered life-threatening injuries when his motorized bike collided with a car on Peoria's East Bluff.

Police were called to the intersection of Wisconsin and East Willcox Avenue just after midnight Saturday on a report of a bicyclist hit by a motor vehicle. Officers found a man who was lying on the ground and unresponsive, Police Department spokeswoman Semone Roth said.

The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene, she said. The man was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, she said.

Based upon the initial investigation, it appears that the vehicle was headed south on Wisconsin and the motorized bike was headed east on Wilcox when the collision occurred.

The driver was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing and later released.This collision remains under investigation.
