A man suffered minor injuries Monday when someone robbed him at gunpoint and fired shots a block from Michigan Avenue on the Near North Side, according to police.
The 29-year-old man was walking south in the 700 block of North Rush Street about 2:15 p.m. when someone tried to take “shopping items” from him, according to Officer Michelle Tannehill, a police spokeswoman. The attacker showed a gun and the man heard three shots fired toward him, police said.
The man fell to the ground and suffered minor injuries, according to police. He declined to be taken to a hospital.
After the robbery, the attacker fled east on Superior Street in a silver Ford Explorer with the items he had taken from the man, police said.
No was in custody. Area Three detectives were investigating.
