A man accused of threatening an undercover Asian cop during a hate-laced tirade near Madison Square Garden was carrying a crack pipe when he claimed he was going to “slap the piss” out of the officer, prosecutors said Saturday.
Juvian Rodriguez was freed but placed under supervised release, after his arraignment on hate crime harassment, menacing and drug possession charges in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Rodriguez, 35, attacked a plainclothes Asian cop near the corner of W. 32nd St. and Seventh Ave., at 1:40 p.m. on Friday, cops said.
“Go back to China before you end up in a f-----g grave yard!” Rodriguez screamed. “I’m gonna slap the piss out of you! I’m going to stab you in the face!”
The officer took Rodriguez into custody before he could make good on any of his threats, cops said.
None of the misdemeanor charges he was arrested on were eligible for monetary bail, prosecutors said. He is expected to face the charges in court on May 17.
Hate crimes have been recorded against about 40 Asian people so far this year, police said.
