Man who threw water pitcher at Baltimore judge's head sentenced

A man charged with throwing a metal pitcher filled with water at a judge during a court hearing was found guilty and sentenced Monday. Retired Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Wanda Keyes Heard was hit in the head inside a courtroom at the Mitchell Courthouse in December 2019 immediately after she sentenced Travis Burroughs as a sexual predator. On Monday, another judge found Burroughs guilty of attacking Heard. A video that captured the assault was played in court, showing Burroughs flinging a metal pitcher full of water, striking Heard in the head. Prosecutor Steven Kroll told the court Burroughs intentionally threw it. Burroughs entered a plea agreement.
