Man ‘was tired of’ grandmother and great-grandmother. So he killed them, TX cops say

A Philadelphia man living in Texas with his grandmother and great-grandmother admitted to strangling them to death because he was “tired of them,” Montgomery County Sheriff deputies told KDFW.

Deputies were led to a residence in the 24300 block of Kingbriar Drive in Spring, Texas, after an unidentified woman’s body was found in the 600 block of Westridge Road in Montgomery County on Dec. 8, authorities said in a news release.

Upon arrival, investigators were met by 22-year-old Jaryd Ramos, who lived at the residence with family members. Investigators interviewed Ramos after a missing persons report was filed on Nov. 26 because other family members had not heard from the grandmother and great-grandmother, authorities said.

After agreeing to a search of the residence, police found “the body of his 90-year-old great-grandmother, Regina Gromley in a garbage can in the back yard,” authorities said.

Ramos then confessed to police he strangled both his great-grandmother and grandmother, 59-year-old Barbara Gromley on Nov. 5 at the home. He also told investigators that he put Barbara Gromley’s body in a plastic tote and dumped her on Nov. 25 behind a a church on Westridge Road, authorities said.

Although he admitted to the crimes, authorities told KDFW that he “has not expressed remorse for his confessed actions.”

Ramos was arrested at taken to the Montgomery County Jail where he is charged with capital murder, according to jail records.
