Man wanted after shooting in Williamsburg shopping center parking lot

Investigators are looking for a man wanted on two counts of attempted murder relating to a Saturday morning shooting in a shopping center parking lot.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said in a news release it has warrants for 29-year-old Alexander E. Berkeley, of James City County.

Deputies were dispatched just before 11 a.m. Saturday to the 800 block of Rochambeau Drive for a shooting near the Shops at Cedar Valley shopping center in Williamsburg.

The sheriff’s office said the victim was a male, but they did not provide his age. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The sheriff’s office said it believes the shooting was an isolated incident, but did not provide information about the circumstances or motive.
