Man wanted for Valentine’s Day murder in Ashburn arrested

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said deputies arrested a man for a deadly shooting that took place in Ashburn Feb. 14.

LCSO said Monday that Rashaun D. Owens turned himself in for the murder of Michai Dandridge-Carter, 19, of Sterling.

Deputies received word of gunfire at Ashburn Meadows, an apartment complex on Keller Square, around 7 :20 p.m. on Valentine’s Day. When they got to the apartments, they found Dandridge-Carter in the parking lot where he died.

As of Monday, Owens was in the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. The sheriff’s office said the charges against him are 2nd Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Attempted Robbery with a Firearm.
