Man wanted in York County bank robbery arrested in Illinois

A 45-year-old Chesapeake man accused of robbing a York County bank was arrested more than 800 miles away in an Illinois city Tuesday, according to police.

Justin Michael Craver was arrested by the Elmhurst Police Department about 10 days after the Old Point National Bank on Kiln Creek Parkway in Yorktown was robbed by a man wielding a hatchet.

Details of the arrest, including the out-of-state charges Craver now faces, were not immediately available, said Shelley Ward, spokesperson for York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

Craver was wanted in connection with the Sept. 16 robbery of Old Point National Bank. The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office identified Craver as a suspect and charged him with robbery with a weapon on Sept. 20.
