Man wanted in York County bank robbery arrested in Illinois

A 45-year-old Chesapeake man accused of robbing a York County bank was arrested more than 800 miles away in an Illinois city Tuesday, according to police.

Justin Michael Craver was arrested by the Elmhurst Police Department about 10 days after the Old Point National Bank on Kiln Creek Parkway in Yorktown was robbed by a man wielding a hatchet.

Craver was arrested on outstanding warrants issued by York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, spokesperson Shelley Ward said.

The sheriff’s office is seeking to have Craver extradited to Virginia.

Craver was wanted in connection with the Sept. 16 robbery of Old Point National Bank. The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office identified Craver as a suspect and charged him with robbery with a weapon on Sept. 20.
