A former top campaign aide to former President Trump is planning a new book set to be published late this summer.

Paul Manafort, Trump's 2016 campaign chairman, has signed a book deal with Simon & Schuster for the project, titled "Political Prisoner."

A description for the book describes Manafort as "one of the highest profile casualties" of "propaganda" from Democrats and the media critical of Trump.

Manafort was convicted on eight different charges in connection with special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian influence in the 2016 election, The Hill previously reported. He was later pardoned by Trump during his final days in in the White House.

Manafort's book's description says it will "finally exposes the lies left unchallenged by media who pronounced Paul guilty long before his case ever saw the inside of a courtroom."

"Political Prisoner tells the real story of Paul's life and career, exploding the lies about his work in Ukraine, his previous work with foreign governments and business interests in other countries, his involvement with the Trump campaign, and the 'process crimes' for which he was wrongly convicted and sent to prison," the description reads. "It is no exaggeration to say that everything most Americans think they know about Paul Manafort is false."

The book is slated to be published in August.
