MANASQUAN – Another Manasquan High School student has received a positive COVID-19 test result just as the Belmar Elementary School was temporarily closed reportedly because of the coronavirus, officials reported this past week.

The Belmar Elementary School was to be closed until Monday after an undisclosed number of students were potentially exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 at a party, according to The Coast Star.

In Manasquan, the newly identified student does not currently attend the in-person school program and therefore has not recently been in the buildings.

"While confidentiality restrictions prevent us from sharing additional details, upon notification of the positive test result, the district, working with the student and their family, engaged in contact tracing," officials said. "Due to the limited contact of this student with the school community, no close contacts have been identified at this time."
