Manchester, Claremont social service offices close due to deep freeze

Feb. 7—Social service offices in Manchester and Claremont have had to close because of pipes that burst because of this past weekend's deep freeze, according to the state Department of Health and Human Services.

The Perimeter Road office in Manchester was closed all day Tuesday and will be closed again on Wednesday, while the Water Street office in Claremont will be closed through Friday.

The Manchester office is expected to reopen on Thursday.

"DHHS is assessing when the (Claremont) office can reopen and will provide updates this week as they are available," DHHS said in a news release.

Staff in both locations are contacting clients with scheduled meetings to provide alternatives. And staff at both offices are doing their work from other locations, DHHS said.
