A mandatory evacuation of children from five frontline settlements in Zaporizhzhya Oblast is planned to include 54 children and 67 family members accompanying them, the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories reported on Facebook on Aug. 29.

The relevant appeal of the Zaporizhzhiya Oblast Military Administration (OVA) was considered at a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law. The participants of the meeting unanimously supported the mandatory evacuation of children from certain settlements of Vasyliv and Polohiv districts of Zaporizhzhiya Oblast.

The press service clarified that five settlements were on the list:

·         Hulyaypole,

·         Stepnohirsk,

·         Preobrazhenka,

·         Yehorivka,

·         Novopavlivka.

“Due to the difficult security situation and hostile shelling, 54 children and 67 accompanying persons (family members) are being mandatorily evacuated,” the ministry added.

The mandatory evacuation will also apply to people with limited mobility who live in these settlements.

Earlier, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk said that the mandatory evacuation of children was currently underway in the community of Vovchansk in Kupyansk District, Kharkiv Oblast.

She also said that there are 89 children in Donetsk Oblast who need to be evacuated.
