Manitowoc: Here are 5 things to do this week, including having Breakfast with Santa and visiting with live reindeer at the library

MANITOWOC - This week brings a chance to have breakfast with Santa, see live reindeer, celebrate the Christmas Tree Ship, wear an ugly sweater and hear all your holiday favorites.

Here are five things to do in Manitowoc.

1. Have Breakfast with Santa

Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, 7001 Gass Lake Road, Manitowoc, is hosting its second annual Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets can be purchased at farmwisconsin.org and include an opportunity to meet Santa, Mrs. Claus and the reindeer, participate in holiday crafts, and enjoy a breakfast buffet — plus admission to the discovery center.

Tickets are $29 for ages 13 and older, $19 for ages 3-12, and free for those up to 2 years old.

2. Celebrate the season with Winter Fest at the library

Manitowoc Public Library, 707 Quay St., is hosting Winter Fest 2022 from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Live reindeer will be on the lawn and there will be crafts at the library from 1 to 3 p.m. that day.

There will also be musical performances, a book sale and an all-ages coloring contest.

3. Check out Christmas Tree Ship Day

Wisconsin Maritime Museum will host a free holiday event Saturday full of activities celebrating the area's shipbuilding past and highlighting the famous "Christmas Tree Ship," the Rouse Simmons.

Wisconsin Maritime Museum, 75 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc, is preparing for its annual Christmas Tree Ship Day festivities, which will be from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.

Santa will make his appearance on a Susie Q fish tugboat with lots of Christmas trees, then be available to meet with families in the museum.

In addition, there will be USS Cobia tours, festive crafts and free admission to the museum.

4. Wear your ugly sweater for Christmas Trivia

Craft Creek Brewing Co., 220 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, is hosting a Christmas Trivia Night and Ugly Sweater Contest at 6 p.m. Thursday.

In addition to delicious brews, there will be prizes for trivia and the best ugly sweater.

5. Listen to the Festival of Christmas concert

Lakeshore Wind Ensemble is performing its Festival of Christmas concert packed with all your holiday favorites at the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

This concerts also features TV host Tom Zalaski as narrator.

Tickets for this festive evening of music can be purchased online at cccshows.org.
