MANITOWOC - Green Bay Packers fans can now grab a cold beer featuring a depiction of the "Frozen Tundra Man."

Sabbatical Brewing released its second round of SuperFans beer series, a hazy IPA featuring iconic Packers backers.

St. Vince kicked off the SuperFans beer in January, just before the Packers' NFC divisional playoff game. The can featured Manitowoc resident John O’Neill who dons green-and-gold bishop vestments featuring famed Packers head coach Vince Lombardi.

Though the Packers' playoff push was cut short, Sabbatical owner and head brewer Will Schneider said fans across the country (and even around the world) asked how they could get their hands on a can.

Swayed by interest in the St. Vince SuperFans beer, Schneider brewed another batch for the start of the 2022 NFL season. The beer inside the can is the same, a session hazy IPA made with Wisconsin-grown hops sourced from Wisconsin Hop Exchange.

Frozen Tundra Man "seemed like the obvious choice" to be featured, Schneider said. That man is Jeff Kahlow of Fond du Lac, whose costume grabs attention for all of the "icicles" dangling from his Cheesehead and green-and-gold garb.

Local artist Matthew Lange drew the sketches of St. Vince and Frozen Tundra Man used on the cans.

Sabbatical Brewing, which brews on a three-and-half barrel system, made a double batch of SuperFans filling about 800 16-ounce cans. Nearly all cans in this run feature Frozen Tundra Man, but Schneider said they had about 60 labels from the January batch, so they wrapped a few cans with St. Vince labels.

He estimates about 600 cans of this round remain.

As of now, SuperFans cans are sold only at the brewery's taproom at 835 S. 29th St., Manitowoc. Cans are sold individually ($6.50) or in four-packs ($19). A portion of the sales go to local charities chosen by the fans on the cans — Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation for St. Vince and Wisconsin Children's Hospital for Frozen Tundra Man.

Breweries can't ship beer directly to customers, so the taproom is the only place to grab a can, though Schneider said O'Neill is talking with a few bars in the Green Bay area about carrying the beer.

Sabbatical plans to brew another round of SuperFans next year.
