Manitowoc can't-miss events include Brewfest and Miss America at Miss Harbor Cities: Things to do

MANITOWOC - Here's your look at things to do in Manitowoc this week.

1. Sample beers at Brewfest

Manitowoc Noon Rotary is hosting its annual Winter Brewfest from 1 to 5 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Manitowoc County Expo Center, 4921 Expo Drive.

Attendees can discover great brews from more than 25 breweries — 125 beers in total!

Refreshments will be available, as well as a raffle to support a local nonprofit InCourage.

Tickets are available now at PetSkull Brewing, Sabbatical Brewing, Craft Creek Brewing, and Superior Discount Liquors, as well as at the door.

2. Check out 'The Haunting of Hill House' at the Mikadow Theatre

If you haven’t been to the Mikadow Theatre since it reopened under new management in January, now is your chance!

This weekend, you can catch a live production of “The Haunting of Hill House,” a novel by Shirley Jackson.

Showings are this weekend, Feb. 17-19, and also next weekend, Feb. 24-26.

3. Attend Miss Harbor Cities & Teen competition

Feb. 19, young women will compete for scholarships and the titles of Miss Harbor Cities and Miss Harbor Cities Teen 2023 at the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc.

This year’s competition will feature a special guest and performer — Miss America 2023 Grace Stanke!

Miss Wisconsin 2022 Kylene Spanbauer will also be a featured guest performer and co-host of the competition with former Miss Wisconsin 2016 and Visit Manitowoc Director of Tourism Courtney Hansen.

The show kicks off at 5 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at cccshows.org.

A special meet-and-greet will take place with Miss Wisconsin in the Capitol's Mertens Lounge from 3 to p.m. and a coronation reception will follow the competition in the lounge at 7:30 p.m.

4. Jam out to live music

There’s no shortage of live music this week!

Feb. 15, PetSkull Brewing, 1015 Buffalo St., will feature the Bottom Shelf during its weekly Metal Night.

Feb. 16, Dave Steffen and Craig Neuser will play at The Fat Seagull, 807 Quay St.

Feb. 17, the Buck Stops will perform at Salute to Everyone, 1107 S. 10th St.

And Feb. 18, Eight Second Ride will take the stage at The Wharf Manitowoc, 606 Quay St.

5. Watch Let Me Be Frank’s 'Willy Wonka' parody

Let Me Be Frank Productions is returning to the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St., at 7 p.m. Feb. 15 for “Seroogy’s, Green Bay’s Willy Wonka,” a comedic play about Green Bay’s chocolate store, Seroogy’s.

The performance will follow a similar storyline to the classic Willy Wonka tale.
