• Miracle League of the Lakeshore opens registration: Miracle League of the Lakeshore is entering its eighth season at Goodwill Miracle Field of Dreams at Miracles Park in Manitowoc. The program gives kids with disabilities the chance to play baseball in a safe and organized way. Deadline for players to register is March 31. Players will be notified of their team in early May. A $45 fee includes a team jersey, cap, team picture, player insurance and end-of-season award. Online registration is at goodwillncw.org/mll. The eight-week season starts June 6, with games played Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Each participant plays one game a week. The Miracle League also offers an over-19 All-Star League for individuals older than 19 with intellectual and physical disabilities. The All-Star League plays on Wednesday nights. The annual Spring Training fundraiser for Miracle League will be from 5 to 8 p.m. March 12 at Par 5, Mishicot, and features silent auction items, bucket raffles, music, dancing and food. Adult entrance fee is $10 and kids are $5, with Miracle League players being admitted free. • Job help offered at library Tuesday: The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will offer employment assistance at Manitowoc Public Library, 707 Quay St., from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Staff will help with résumé-writing and assistance with online applications and registering in Job Center of Wisconsin. No appointment is needed.

• Tittl supports bill for mental health clubhouses: State Rep. Paul Tittl, R-Manitowoc, last week testified in favor of Senate Bill 901 at the Senate Committee on Health. The bill, introduced by Tittl and State Sen. Jerry Petrowski, would create a matching grant up to $50,000 per mental health clubhouse per year. Mental health clubhouses are non-residential, recovery-based programs that provide support and services to people with diagnosed mental health issues. Wisconsin has five certified clubhouses, including Painting Pathways, 1226 Washington St., Manitowoc. The bill would require the Department of Health Services to award grants to accredited clubhouses, non-residential programs providing support and services to people with mental illness. Total funding per year would be limited to $500,000 when the bill takes effect on July 1, 2023.

• City to City St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Hunt: Two Rivers Parks & Recreation Department and Manitowoc Parks and Recreation Division will partner in a hunt for leprechauns hidden at locations in both cities. The hunt begins March 15. Pick up rules and regulations at both department offices starting at 8 a.m. March 15. Participants will have a week, until March 22, to take a photo with all the leprechauns for a chance to win prizes. • Farm Wisconsin plans Maple Days: Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center, in partnership with the Wisconsin Maple Syrup Producers Association, will host the second annual Maple Days March 11-12. Activities will run 9 a.m.-1 p.m. both days at Farm Wisconsin, 7001 Gass Lake Road. Guests will learn how to tap a sugar maple log, grade maple syrup, learn about the science of sap, make maple taffy and sample pure Wisconsin maple syrup. Activities are included with paid admission to Farm Wisconsin: $16 for adults, $12 for ages 62 and older, $8 for ages 4-18, and free for ages 3 and younger. On March 12, visitors are encouraged to extend their experience beyond Farm Wisconsin with stops at three local sugarbushes — Inthewoods Sugar Bush, at 1040 S. Union Road, Manitowoc; Maple Sweet Dairy, at 4501 County Road W, De Pere; and East Ridge Villa, at N5835 Ridge Road, Plymouth. The three sugarbushes will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visiting three out of the four sites throughout the Maple Days event will enter participants in a drawing to win a gift basket filled with Wisconsin-made maple products. Punch cards can be picked up and dropped off at any location. Before the event, people can tap a tree at home, collect the sap and take it to any of the three participating sugarbushes. Tree-tapping kits will be available at Farm Wisconsin for those needing equipment and guidance. The tree-tapping kits are $8 each in the Farm House Store at Farm Wisconsin through March 19.
