Narcan vending machine overdue, but location could keep some from using it

Editor’s note: This letter is in response to an Aug. 2 Herald Times Reporter article about Manitowoc County Board approving a resolution to accept a $25,000 state grant to fund the purchase of a Narcan vending machine that will be placed at Econo Lodge on Washington Street and filled with naloxone, a medicine that can rapidly reverse an opioid overdose, and testing strips that can detect the presence of fentanyl. Both will be free and available to anyone. The article stated Econo Lodge is monitored through video surveillance.

It has been long overdue that a little something has been done to try to help people not die because of a health issue. But it isn’t much. They put the vending machine across from the courthouse and will be monitoring it via cameras so they can harass people who use it. I know if I were using, I wouldn’t go near it.

The story showed just how ignorant our people in government are. Five of them voted against saving lives. One of them being so ignorant that he thinks Narcan would take lives instead of saving lives. Where do we get these idiots who can’t even look up facts on Google or elsewhere?

This subject — health issues (i.e. drug use) and the subsequent genocide of people — is important to me because I used to use, have been in a concentration camp because of it and have lost tons of friends to this current genocide. In fact, I will soon be attending yet another funeral for a dear friend because of it.

I would appreciate more stories on the genocide of people by the government and stories showing how no one can trust anyone in government — so the truth.
