Manitowoc women sentenced for roles in distributing fentanyl from Milwaukee

MANITOWOC – Two Manitowoc women have been sentenced for their roles in a fentanyl distribution ring.

Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release June 19 that Ashley Schroeder, 31, of Manitowoc, was sentenced May 10 to four years in prison followed by eight years of supervised release for her conviction of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

And on June 13, Amanda Adelmann, 34, of Manitowoc, was sentenced to four years in prison followed by six years of supervised release, also for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

The sheriff's office said Manitowoc Metro Drug Unit investigators had conducted surveillance and interviews revealing that Schroeder was traveling to the Milwaukee area to obtain fentanyl and then distributing it to numerous individuals in the Manitowoc area.

The sheriff’s office said Schroeder admitted to obtaining fentanyl beginning in July/August 2020 through September 2021.

Investigators, the release said, estimate Schroeder purchased between 300 and 800 grams of fentanyl from the Milwaukee area and admitted to traveling there two to three times per week, purchasing $500 to $600 of fentanyl during each commute.

Adelmann was identified by investigators as a co-conspirator with Schroeder in the purchasing and distributing of fentanyl to numerous individuals in the Manitowoc area, the release said.

The investigations, according to the sheriff’s office, led to multiple Milwaukee-area fentanyl drug suppliers, which resulted in federal charges and seizures of a kilogram of fentanyl and multiple firearms.
