LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from William Geheren who nominated Stewart McVicar of Lake in the Hills. Geheren and McVicar are friends.

Name: Stewart McVicar

Relationship to nominee: Friend

Reason for recognition: Stewart McVicar is the owner of Club 400 a Nationally recognized Man Cave where is has raised almost $500,000 in the past five years for local charities. The amazing part is the $70,000 he has raised during Covid without being able to gather people.

One thing to know: Stewart spends as much time on his goal of raising money for those in need as he does running the small business he owns. His heart of goal reaches so many people including a little girl who needed a wheelchair, to people with stage 4 cancer and many more

Thank you for all you do, Stewart McVicar.
