The Mansion Inn is reopening soon with new restaurant highlighting mix of Asian influences

The wait is almost over for those hoping to get a taste of the new Asian fusion dining concept coming to downtown New Hope.

Anzu, Landmark Hospitality’s newest restaurant inside The Mansion Inn is anticipated to open this spring, rolling out a menu inspired by the food and traditions of south and southeast Asian countries — including Japan, China, Vietnam, the Philippines and India.

“We are looking to pay homage to some amazing cultures with tasteful, local-inspired interpretations of traditional dishes and really having fun while doing it,” said Anthony Bucco, senior vice president of culinary for Landmark.

Landmark acquired The Mansion Inn in 2019 with plans to breathe new life into the Victorian manor home dating back to 1865.

The company, based in Plainfield, New Jersey, currently owns and operates 12 venues in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including The Logan Inn, located just two doors down from Anzu.

Bucco said the first phase of construction, which consists of Anzu and the inn’s eight original guest rooms, is currently about 85% complete, as they work on finishes, installing equipment and getting the furnishings in place.

They expect Anzu and The Mansion Inn to open by mid- to late-spring, he added.

The second phase of construction, which includes an addition off the rear of the building for 30 more guest rooms and a spa, will continue into the end of fall or early winter.

What to expect at The Mansion Inn’s new restaurant?

The restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating, a bar and open kitchen, with a design that pairs old Victorian style with modern Eastern design. It will incorporate a mix of textures, vibrant elements and art throughout for an intimate and cozy space.

“We’ve enhanced the overall age of the building and matched it with modern elements that strike a balance of matching the concept of the restaurant and the history of the building,” Bucco said.

“I think the environment will be very sleek. Ultimately, it will not be pretentious, but fun and social and energetic.”

While the menu is still under development, Bucco said they plan to create many traditional favorites using local ingredients, while incorporating some unexpected dishes.

“You’ve got to make sure that people have their go-to, but the reality is there’s got to be a concept that separates you from everyone else, that takes people out of their comfort zone,” he said. “If someone is into it and adventurous that day, there will definitely be some fun outside of the box opportunities to expand their horizons.”

The drink menu includes sake, soju, beer, and wine, with a special focus on tiki-inspired cocktails and Japanese whiskeys.

“We’re prepared to service just about everyone near and far to make Anzu a special part of anyone’s stay in New Hope,” Bucco said.
