Mansion — resembling a palace — is most expensive home currently for sale in Georgia
A remarkable property — with a very hefty price tag — has hit the real estate market in Bolingbroke, Georgia. And at $45.2 million, it happens to be the most expensive home currently on the real estate market in The Peach State.
And when you take one look at the photos of the elegant palace-like mansion, you’ll understand why.
“There’s so much to see,” Donda Combs, a sales representative for the house told Realtor.com. “Essentially, you’re engulfed by opulence. The craftsmanship makes you feel like you kind of step back in time.”
The mansion, appropriately named Great Hill Place, sits neatly on 329-plus acres and has views for miles, which includes gardens, woodlands and even a lake. It has seven bedrooms and even more bathrooms, according to the listing.
“Georgian Architecture-inspired inspired manor home impresses with 2 facades, each equally grand,” the listing on Realtor.com says. “Fluted Corinthian columns, dentil molding, a grand pediment, sweeping balustrades, domed rotunda with clerestory windows.”
Features in the house include:
Dual staircases
Soaring ceilings
Elevator
Roof deck
Playroom
Nanny suite
Two kitchens
Gym
Theater
Also on the property is the 10-acre lake, lakeside pavilion, horse barn, a tennis court and basketball court.
According to Realtor, the home was originally listed for $15 million in spring 2021 before jumping to $18.75 million in September. However, it returned to the market in October with a large increase, which Combs said had to do with “what the home really cost to build” along with how much the other buildings on the property cost.
“It’s extraordinarily defensible, where we are priced,” she said to Realtor. “I am really comfortable with it.”
Bolingbroke is about 14 miles northwest of Macon.
