Manual High School’s Nya Bunton has been named Ms. Kentucky Volleyball by the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association.

Bunton, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker, posted 516 kills, 97 digs, 47 blocks and 47 aces this season, while helping the Crimsons go 32-8 and reach the Seventh Region championship match.

Bunton, who has committed to the University of Texas, also was named an Under Armour All-American.

Manual coach Richard Weaver was named he KVCA Coach of the Year, and Notre Dame senior libero Kamden Schrand was named KVCA Defensive Player of the Year.

Bunton was one of three players from the Louisville area to receive first-team All-State honors, joining North Oldham junior setter Lucy Rankin and Assumption senior setter Whitney Woodrow.
