Manville man fatally struck by freight train: police

MANVILLE – A 50-year-old borough man was killed after he was struck by a freight train Saturday at about 10:30 p.m.

The man, whose identity has not been released by police, was struck by an eastbound Norfolk Southern train near the VFW post.

The North 13th Avenue railroad crossing was closed for several hours because of the police investigation.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call detectives at the Manville Police Department at 908-725-1900.
