How many Ohio State football players will be picked in 2023 NFL draft?

The 2023 NFL draft is less than a month away.

With the NFL combine and Ohio State football's pro day complete, many Buckeyes are waiting to see if their name will be called in Kansas City starting April 27.

In his latest seven-round 2023 NFL mock draft, ESPN NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid has seven Ohio State players selected, one more than in 2022.

Here's where Reid has Buckeyes going in the 2023 NFL draft.

Ohio State could have four first-round selections in 2023 NFL draft

Reid projects four Ohio State football players being picked in the first round, the most for the Buckeyes since 2016 when Joey Bosa (San Diego Chargers), Ezekiel Elliott (Dallas Cowboys), Eli Apple (New York Giants), Taylor Decker (Detroit Lions) and Darron Lee (New York Jets) were each first-round picks.

In the past six NFL drafts, Ohio State has had 13 first-round selections.

As the projected No. 1 pick, C.J. Stroud would follow in the footsteps of offensive tackle Orlando Pace, who went to the St. Louis Rams at No. 1 in 1997.

Reid has no Ohio State player selected in the second round of the NFL draft for the second-straight season.

Luke Wypler and Zach Harrison's selections would come in the same round as both Nicholas Petit-Frere (Tennessee Titans). and Jeremy Ruckert (New York Jets) in the 2022 draft.

Reid has no Ohio State player being selected in the fourth, fifth or sixth rounds of the 2023 NFL draft. If so, it would mark the first time no Buckeye has been selected in those rounds since 2017.

Based on Reid's mock draft. cornerback Cameron Brown, defensive tackle Jerron Cage, linebacker Palaie Gaoteote, safety Tanner McCalister, long snapper Bradley Robinson, tight end Mitch Rossi and defensive tackle Taron Vincent would be un-drafted free agents after the 2023 NFL draft.
