MAP: Starbucks, Walmart to add more electric charging. Find EV stations in Tri-Cities, WA

Big brand-name companies are embracing the electric vehicle movement by installing EV charging stations at their locations across the United States.

Recently, Starbucks and Walmart have announced efforts to increase access to EV charging stations.

Starbucks is currently heading a project placing EV chargers roughly every 100 miles on routes between Denver and Seattle.

The project is in cooperation with Volvo Cars and aims to connect Seattle, Boise, Salt Lake City and Denver for EV drivers.

“Previously under-resourced to support EV charging, this scenic artery passes near six national forests and unlocks to zero tailpipe-emission EV drivers some of the country’s most iconic spots,” says a press release from Starbucks.

“From the Snoqualmie Pass in Washington, stretching the Snake River in Idaho, spanning Arches National Park in Utah and connecting outdoor destinations like Park City and Vail, the route represents the American road trip at its best.”

Regionally, 15 Starbucks locations were selected for the project. Most recently, four chargers were set up at the Hermiston, Ore., just south of the Tri-Cities, Wash.

Starbucks location. La Grande and Yakima, Wash. are also expected to receive charging stations.

Walmart announced it would launch its own network of EV charging stations and install several at stores coast-to-coast. The chain has yet to release a roadmap of when and where these changes will occur.

There are many EV charging stations in the Tri-Cities, but only one has more than four chargers in one place. The Tesla Supercharger station at the Kennewick Fred Meyer has eight charging stations, though the spots are in popular demand.

There are multiple Tesla Destination chargers, all of which have two or three chargers. There are also ChargePoint, Electric Circuit and Blink charging stations at various locations in Tri-Cities, plus several individual and unbranded options. Check the list below or use our interactive map.
