Maple Leafs sign G Hutchinson, D Marincin

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed goaltender Michael Hutchinson and defenseman Martin Marincin to one-year contracts.

The team said each contract is valued at $700,000.

The Maple Leafs acquired Hutchinson, 29, from the Florida Panthers in a trade on Dec. 29. He appeared in five games with Toronto and 23 with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. With the Maple Leafs, he was 2-3-0 with a 2.64 goals-against average and .914 save percentage.

An Ontario native, Hutchinson was a third-round selection of the Boston Bruins in the 2008 NHL Draft.

Marincin, 27, appeared in 24 games last season for the Maple Leafs, scoring one goal and four assists. A second-round selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 draft, he debuted with Edmonton in 2013 and spent two seasons there before being traded to Toronto following the 2014-15 season.

He has 30 points (four goals, 26 assists) in 201 regular-season games in his career.
