Maple School District sets budget meeting

Sep. 18—MAPLE — The Maple School Board will hold its budget hearing and annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25.

The district's budget for the 2023-2024 school year is set at slightly over $21.3 million. The board is poised to adopt a tax levy for $10.2 million, with a tax rate to be determined after the Wisconsin Department of Revenue releases equalization value information.

Included in the budget is $36,900 that will go into Community Service Fund 80 to support extracurricular activities at Northwestern Middle School and $40,000 that will go into the Fund 41 Capital Expansion Fund for future building and site replacement.

The policy to fund middle school activities was approved at the board's Sept. 11 meeting.

"These programs are open to any students, regardless of if they go to Northwestern or not, so long as they live within our district boundaries," said business manager Cody Fechtelkotter.

The board will also vote on a resolution authorizing the district to continue a Capital Expansion Fund 41 for pre-financing the cost of future building and site replacement as needed.
